Who We Are

History of the BT Delivery Engineering & Support group

BT Italia today reflects a period of unprecedented transformation. This section explains the paths that lead us to where we are today.

The Delivery Engineering & Support group originated from the Specialist Technical Support staff of the Italian branch of British Telecom. Throughout the years, having evolved along with the company’s changes in view of global developments and customers demands, it has adopted the following names:

1990 Field Service (BT Worldwide Ltd. Italian Branch)

1995 Field Service (Albacom)

1997 Customer Engineering (Albacom)

1998 Voice Engineering (Albacom)

2002 Field Engineering (Albacom)

2005 Customer Engineering & Support (BT Albacom)

2006 Delivery Engineering & Support (BT Albacom)

2006 Delivery Engineering & Support (BT)

2010 Breakup of the group and integration of the resources in other structures of BT Italia

The core purpose of Delivery Engineering & Support was to provide specialist technical support to the customers and internal departments of BT.

Goal:

Ensure the execution of functionality testing on newly introduced products in line with the company's quality and cost-effectiveness strategies.

Ensure production and diffusion of technical documentation and technical training of third-party personnel assigned to installation and maintenance in compliance with customer service standards.

Ensure the execution of second-level technical interventions to meet with response standards.

Monitor quality of service both during installation and maintenance.

Development:

The key assets of the group were its competencthe resources of the group have been integrated with new functions in other structures of BT Italia. Nevertheless the site www.bt-engineering.net will keep on furnishing the services of technical support with the same appointment and motivation that have countersigned the spirit of the group for a long time.e, its strong customer- oriented problem-solving approach, and the diverse experience of its team members. Quality standards were pursued and achieved by means of continual training and ongoing acquisition of professional skills in new technologies, necessary due to the rapid evolution in this field.
Beginning from January 1 2010 the group has been integrated in the structure Configuration Voice and VoIP Services with new responsibilities and functions.

Organisation:

Delivery Support Engineers and Specialist Delivery Support Engineers were located at the Rome and Milan offices supervised by the group Manager.

Present role:

From January 2010 the resources of the group have been integrated with new functions in other structures of BT Italia. Nevertheless the site www.bt-engineering.net will keep on facilitating the services of technical support with the same commitment and motivation that have always been a hallmark of the spirit of the group.
